Vein, also known as Vein.fm, is an American hardcore punk band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. They were formed in 2013 and are recognized for their unique blend of hardcore punk, metalcore, and elements of nu metal. The band consists of five members: Anthony DiDio (vocals), Jeremy Martin (guitar), Josh Butts (guitar), Jon Lhaubouet (bass), and Matt Wood (drums).
Vein's music is characterized by its frenetic energy, chaotic rhythms, and emotional intensity, often drawing comparisons to bands like Converge and Slipknot. Their sound is also noted for its experimental approach, incorporating elements of jazz, industrial, and electronic music.
Vein released their debut EP, "Terrors Realm," in 2015, followed by a self-titled EP in 2016. However, it was their debut full-length album, "Errorzone," released in 2018, that propelled them to significant acclaim in the hardcore and metal scenes. The album was praised for its innovative sound and intense delivery, with many critics highlighting it as a standout release in hardcore music.
In 2020, Vein rebranded as Vein.fm and released the remix album "Old Data in a New Machine, Vol. 1." This album saw the band further pushing the boundaries of their sound, incorporating more electronic and industrial influences.
Despite their relatively short career so far, Vein has made a significant impact on the hardcore scene. Their innovative approach to genre blending and their intense, cathartic live shows have earned them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim.
